Intellectual Freedom Round Table

April 7, 2025

Dear Member

We'd like to thank you for being an IFRT member this year. While it's been an unprecedented year of censorship, we've still worked together (and apart) to promote intellectual freedom in our profession. Today we are sharing with you our annual report that outlines the discussions, planning, and accomplishments of our leadership and volunteers.

Rhonda Evans

"I am probably most proud of IFRT’s work with the Emerging Leaders Program. ALA’s Emerging Leaders Program provides an entryway into ALA involvement from talented and passionate new librarians who work on projects aimed at improving the profession. Not only did IFRT choose to sponsor another fantastic Emerging Leader participant, but also an Emerging Leader Project." .

To celebrate the 2022 award winners, IFRT and FTRF are cohosting a Freedom to Read Celebration sponsored by Penguin Random House and featuring banned author David Levithan. Proceeds from the celebration will go to support the Leroy C. Merritt Humanitarian Fund.
